The monastery of Sant Llorenç is one of the most important cenobític set of Berguedà. Stands out the magnificent church, which has the distinction of having a gallery in the nave, under which there is a beautiful space that looks like a crypt. On the south side are developed medieval monastery buildings that have come down, as part of the cloister and the former hall of the hospital.
The first written references to the monastery dating back to the year 898, but the church was consecrated in 983. The set was constructed between centuries X and XII, and sank partly as a result of the earthquake of 1428. The community of Benedictine monks remained in place until the beginning of the seventeenth century; thereafter becomes a priory.
