In the mid of IX century, the Romanesque church was small and the community of Augustinian monks from Frontanyà began to build the new church and monastery. Today, the church and is an example of Lombard Romanesque art in Catalonia for its purity of lines and volumes, as well as the austere but elegant decor. The dome of twelve sides is unique in the country. Only the majestic church and the cemetery remain our days, a jewel of Romanesque Berguedà.
