It is one of the most important megaliths in Berguedà dating from 1800-1400 BC.
It is a collective funeral monument consisting of a pentagonal chamber and a large slab of more than eight tons in size as a roof. It is located on top of a large mound more than twenty meters in diameter.
It was first excavated in 1920 by Mn. Joan Serra i Vilaró, who found a funeral hoist made up of several pieces, including ceramic fragments, an amorphous white flint knife and a copper ring.
