Regional Museum of Berga

The space explores the origins and development of the city. It explains the birth of the urban centre, its growth and period of splendour during the Late Middle Ages. It then looks at how the city maintained its dynamism over the following centuries and became a leading centre in the surrounding territory, particularly in the 18th century as a Bourbon town at the foot of its imposing castle, and in the 19th century as the capital of Catalan Carlism.

 

On Carrer dels Àngels, right in the heart of the city, you can visit the Espai d’Interpretació de Berga. As part of the Museu Comarcal de Berga, it presents part of the city’s history through an updated museographic display. Thanks to its privileged location, it aims to serve as a showcase for presenting Berga to visitors, while also acting as an antenna and loudspeaker for the cultural vitality of the city and the surrounding region.
